The kP1 from Kurzweil is a piano-style footswitch pedal for use with keyboards and other devices. When plugged into a compatible jack, stepping on the pedal controls the assigned on/off parameter, which in many cases will be the "sustain" function on piano instruments. The KP-1 could also be used to trigger a recording device to start and stop recording; it could trigger a guitar amplifier to switch into overdrive, etc. The KP-1 features a rubberized tip to keep your foot in place.
