The Crossroads series has been inspired by the classic instruments produced in America during the 1930s. During the economic downfall, simple undecorated guitars became popular and the wood’s tone was of upmost importance. Tanglewood’s master designer, Michael Sanden, chose the wood and measurements to be used on the Crossroad series so that they remain deep in tone, and affordable in price. The Crossroads range focuses on having a neck, body and sound that students and professionals alike agree is even and representative of classic guitar.
The Tanglewood Roadster II Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar in Natural Cedar is a no-frills acoustic guitar with a great tone and playability. The solid cedar top provides a slightly darker and 'sweeter' tone and is a very welcome addition at this price-point. The 'dreadnought' body shape is the one of the largest acoustic guitar styles and provides a sonorous tone - ideal for strumming but equally capable of flat-picking and fingerpicking styles. The natural satin finish provides a smooth and tactile feel and allows the focus to go into the playability and tone of this instrument. The Roadster II Dreadnought is a highly affordable guitar that delivers a real solid wood top to give it a rich acoustic tone; perfect for developing musicians and value-seeking professionals.

Tanglewood recognise that to introduce people to music an instrument must have a high build quality, good playability, attractive cosmetics and as many features as possible to encourage and reward aspiring musicians.
Using this design brief, Tanglewood luthiers created the Discovery Exotic series, a whole range of genuine musical instruments which feature 4 band EQ systems with stage backlighting, delicate 2mm fingerboard dots, black soft touch machine head buttons and understated sound hole rosettes. All these features are aimed at bringing the specification of a much more expensive instrument into the entry level market.
