The Crossroads series has been inspired by the classic instruments produced in America during the 1930s. During the economic downfall, simple undecorated guitars became popular and the wood’s tone was of upmost importance. Tanglewood’s master designer, Michael Sanden, chose the wood and measurements to be used on the Crossroad series so that they remain deep in tone, and affordable in price. The Crossroads range focuses on having a neck, body and sound that students and professionals alike agree is even and representative of classic guitar.
The Tanglewood Roadster II Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar in Natural Cedar is a no-frills acoustic guitar with a great tone and playability. The solid cedar top provides a slightly darker and 'sweeter' tone and is a very welcome addition at this price-point. The 'dreadnought' body shape is the one of the largest acoustic guitar styles and provides a sonorous tone - ideal for strumming but equally capable of flat-picking and fingerpicking styles. The natural satin finish provides a smooth and tactile feel and allows the focus to go into the playability and tone of this instrument. The Roadster II Dreadnought is a highly affordable guitar that delivers a real solid wood top to give it a rich acoustic tone; perfect for developing musicians and value-seeking professionals.
We’ve long pioneered the practice of sustainable forestry in the pursuit of our art and for this latest Roadster series we match finely graded Canadian Red Cedar tops with traditional Indonesian mahogany back and sides to produce tonally rich instruments that sound instantly wonderful tuned up right out of the box.
Our luthiers have to work especially hard in creating their look, finishing the smooth edging joins of the body very carefully because there is no binding added to the body of these models, therefore no margin for error. Cedar tops are finished and sealed in high grade, low density satin lacquer and as well as capturing the stripped down raw timber cosmetic effect we envisaged on the drawing board, we are sure this also adds to their sweet sounding sonic appeal.

It might look odd but the solid Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides give a warm and rich tone you'd expect from any Washburn acoustic while the full size neck allows easy playing and no need to adjust your technique.
The RO10E comes complete with a quality cordura case with hard foam lined interior case, instructional CD, strap and 3 picks.

Tanglewood's Winterleaf series provides outstanding value for money, and if you needed proof - just try out the TW12CE. In terms of playability and tone, we challenge you to find a more satisfying 12 string in the price bracket! One of the most impressive features of the Tanglewood Winterleaf TW12CE is the outstanding playability it provides. Normally you'd expect a chunky, tougher-to-play neck at this price point - but not here. Even if you've never played a 12-string before, you'll quickly get to grips with this very fluid feeling guitar. Playability is matched with a highly desirable tone. It uses mahogany back and sides which creates a full bodied, warm tonal base, topped with a solid spruce top really allows the brightness of the higher strings to ring out with immaculate clarity. We're truly impressed with this guitar, and highly recommend it for all 12-string applications.
